Tuesday: Weekly Book Review—Here’s a Little Poem

FANTASTIC find last week at the library…

We love to read poems in our home and this is the perfect poetry book for small children. The illustrations are bright, colorful and quite hilarious. The book divides up the poems in four sections: Me, Myself and I, Who Lives in My House?, I Go Outside and Time for Bed. I am so impressed with the illustrator and poetry in this book. The list of contributors reads like a who’s who of children’s poetry–Margaret Wise Brown, Nikki Grimes, Aileen Fisher, Jack Prelutsky, and others. Be sure to pick it up, what a wonderful birthday or newborn gift this could be!

Happy Birthday!

Happy birthday to you!
Squashed tomatoes and stew!
Bread and butter
In the gutter
Happy Birthday to you!
