Tuesday: Weekly Book Find—Barack Obama Books for Children

I was not even aware that there were this many books for children on Barack Obama! Our library does not carry them yet but I cannot wait until they do!

They had a bunch like those at our Sam’s club when the debates were still going on, so they had some about Hillary and some about McCain… I’m not political and I think our 2 party system is not good for this country, so I didn’t get any. But maybe now that the president has been elected and soon inaugurated I might consider some. I wonder if they have bundles of books with lots of presidents…

We have \\"Barack Obama, Child of Hope\\" and the kids LOVE to read it. We also have a basic kids biography on him, which my nine year old really liked reading. I think one of the amazing things about our 44th President is that children seem drawn to him– even if only because they saw us door knocking, phone banking, etc.– to have a leader in this country they can look up too, well, that\\\’s just thrilling.

I am real anxious regarding the upcoming election. When I think about everything that is occuring in Iraq, Afghanistan, and the Middle East (not to mention the economy) we definitely need a experienced leader. I’m not at all convinced that Mr. Obama or any of the Republican candidates thus far have the experience or skills it takes to do the job the way it needs to be accomplished. Being president of the U.S. is an immensely challenging job. Is there any man or woman out there with the experience, skill, and moral courage to do the job?
