Things I Loved This Month

February 18th, 2013 in Beauty in Everyday

Little houses nestled deep into the jungle. One time Tyler asked a family if it was hard living so far from the main road. They looked at him oddly and said of course not. It probably was like people asking us if it was hard to live in Herriman instead of Salt Lake.

The beautiful trees out here, I never get a good picture of them. But this one I got a decent shot of.

Our 2008 Dodge Caravan. I feel like I need to publicly thank…cannot decide if it is female or masculine. But thank you for being such a good good car to us.

Having every activity the librarian and I had planned go bust this last week. But it still being a lot of fun for the kids.

Pit stops during our weekly errands for a refreshing drink of jugo de pina y naranja.

Outside showers. My apologies to the neighbors my husband flashes on a nightly basis. Things are different out here though. Ask me how many men I have caught peeing wherever. TOO MANY is my answer.

Being invited to fun birthday parties and making a lot of new friends.

New uniforms for ballet class and having ballet class being held in a new place. A place with a waiting room for me that is air conditioned. Makes those two hours of waiting around a lot more bearable.

Having a pretty darn cute lunch buddy.

Picking up sweet Angie to stay with us the weekend–this is her house right now.

Being proud of the decision to squish dress up into my suitcase. The girls still play with it and doesn’t my mom sew the best princess dresses?

How little reminders of home make them so happy. Just a little processed chocolate treat does the trick.

Going days without dressing her.

Relaxing with Shae Bay.

Lastly, making friends. I wanted to in my first year of being 30 just work on fitting into a community and making friends. It involves being brave, putting yourself out there, and just being yourself. This is what I am trying to teach my sweet oldest daughter who is having a very hard time with certain things right now. You be yourself and be friendly. That is all you need to do to make friends. I love going over to my friend Irene’s house to spend the day. It has been a long time since I felt so comfortable in a friend’s home that I stay for hours and hours. It feels good.
