The Ugly Pumpkin, by Dave Horowitz

September 7th, 2010 in Tuesday: Weekly Book Review

Yesterday we drove a bit to go to a big bookstore in the area where we usually find new favorite books. We read through a huge stack of Halloween books in hopes of finding *THE* one. You know, we read a lot of lame Halloween books.  Only about three out of fifteen were really good!  When we were finished reading I asked the girls if they could pick only ONE to buy which would it be?  At the same time, all three of us said, “The Ugly Pumpkin!”

Boy, is this an adorable book.  It’s not the same story as all the other books.  It’s really just a fun Halloween book! And bonus points: at the end of the book it goes into Thanksgiving!  So you can have it sitting out for bedtime for even longer. “The Ugly Pumpkin” by Dave Horowitz is a book about a pumpkin who feels out of place and then finally he realizes….”Oh My Gosh.  I’m a Squash!”  Cracked me up!

The Ugly Pumpkin by Dave Horowitz is a MUST buy for this fall.  It’s only $6.99 right now.  Man, I paid too much!
