out of the corner of my eye I notice the fading sky turning pink out the loft window
spontaneous excitement washes over me
I quickly grab the girl’s hands with promises that the sky indeed was turning pink
the pitter patter of their little feet through the neighborhood sprinklers to find our way to see the sky
squeals of excitement and astonished looks when they found that my promise was indeed true
prancing through the neighborhood for hours as the pink folds into the dark black
a firm grip on my finger from my niece who is not sure of what to make of this silliness
she soon understands and grabs hands with my girls
as we prance about the neighborhood chasing our shadows in search of the pink sunset
What a beautiful skyline!
