Rexburg Weekend Trip
Well…have you ever gone on a “vacation” that you wish you hadn’t ever done? This could be one. Other than getting to see my cute nieces there was not much else redeemable about it. Okay when we went to Yellowstone it was pretty cool that a park ranger walked around with us and also a nature photographer. The girls got to feed baby bear cubs, isn’t that pretty cool? I was going through a lot of stress and worry for someone I love. I was not up for interacting. I also was notified over text that my street block had been moved to a new ward. And that I was released from YW President. The girls really act out when my mood of vibe is off. Oh and it was. So the girls acted out big time. This Rexburg trip was Tyler’s Christmas present. We all pretty much ruined it. Do you think when kids look back they remember the cool experiences? Or their mom not being herself? Do you think they remember when their dad was so ganged up on that he locked himself in a hotel room? Or having that fun time in the pool with him? I don’t know what they will remember. But I will remember it as a sad trip. Hopefully they remember the fun things? Who knows.
When we did our Montana trip last summer Tyler was hoping to see a bear. Everywhere we went he would ask if there were going to be bears. His eyes would scan the forest line on every tour we went on. In hopes of seeing a bear. We did not and so the girls and I thought it would be cute to take Tyler to Bear World. I decided since we would be so close to Yellowstone to do one day there. It was just a 3 day trip, including driving, so we couldn’t do much.
I didn’t realize how beautiful Rexburg was, look at the view out of our hotel window:
Like I said, we got to see my beautiful & wonderful nieces. I sure do love their mom, sisters, and them.
Getting to be in a pool is always a highlight for my girls. What kids don’t love being in a pool?
Also the hotel we stayed at gave us 150 dollars in free vouchers at their restaurant. So we went and had a 150 dollar dinner. Cameron was so excited to be in the land of potatoes (she owns a potato website mind you) that she promptly ordered the potato pizza. Shae was excited to get her own ice cream bar delivered to the table. I have never spent so much money on a meal that I was particularly excited for.
What I’ll remember most of Rexburg is how sad and heart broken I felt. But I hope these girlies have different memories.
All I see is fun experiences. I’m sorry you were sad.
