Redoing Abby’s Loft Bedroom

Remember when I redid Baby Girl’s Room? I did the shadow boxes, the big Bird’s Nest Wreath to hang over her bed, the Bob Marley Vinyl and I redid the Toy Chest. I still just adore her room and hope she loves it for quite a few more years.

We bought this home a year ago and I am slowly getting to each room. Abby is up in the “loft” and it is quite a big bedroom…without a closet. Someday I would like to build a closet in there but not anytime soon. Her room just does not work for her or her mother or her friends that come over. It just doesn’t work so this is the project we have been slowly working on!

Let me show you…

The TV stand is just ghetto. It has corners where some puppy chewed on them 8 years ago. There’s that table no one ever uses. The bookcases are so wobbly and when the girls try to get one book from the top they all tumble down. My girls have never even LOOKED at that basketball thing Santa got them for Christmas. Then her dresser is overstuffed. She isn’t able to get anything out of it and her knick knacks are just spilling off the top.

The art easles sometimes get used if I remind the girls. I need to go through those toy bins so the other half of them can be for her clothes. Someday that line up of bins will be a closet. Right now I think it looks OK though.

Can you see how if anyone comes over to play with her, this room gets trashed in 1.3 seconds? And can you see how it takes 90 minutes to clean up and reorganize that 1.3 seconds of playing?

I am excited to work on her room. I want it to be an older girl style that will hopefully last a while. Also, I want it to be a cool “hang out” place for my girls and their friends.
