Monday’s Maven

Full Name: Ruthanne, Rudy, Rufusgufus, Rufie, Rufieanne Basically, I’ll answer to pretty much anything. Except honey. Please, don’t call me honey.

blog:

Location: Out-in-the-middle-of-nowhere Arkansas {Yee-haw!}

kids: Well . . . let’s see. Hubby and I have eight kids all together ~ yours, mine and ours. I could list all of their nicknames, but I’m sure y’all don’t want to be reading my jibberish all day. I’ll stick with the youngest four: Cowgirl Princess {12}, Junior {8}, Lil’ Dub {6} and Blondie {4}.

One Word that Describes You: Er . . .

What makes you smile?

The smell of coffee just as I’m waking up in the morning
Show tunes
My husband’s smirk. It’s sexy.
Messy s’mores
Inside jokes
Watching my children become best friends
Baking

What is one of your dreams you hope to accomplish soon? If you has asked me this last week, I would have been able to reply quickly. I worked for months saving for a new camera and I finally reached my goal. It. felt. good! Right now, I just basking in that. Actually, I vacillate between joy and despair. Learning new things is hard, yo.  Someday, I would love to go pro. Someday.

One of Your favorite motherhood moments? Definitely holding each of my children for the first time. Makes my heart well up all over again just thinking about it.

What is your guilty pleasure?

Every chick flick known to womankind
Caramel Macchiato {Grande, please}
3 Musketeer bars

What do you love most about you? Er . . . goodness. That’s hard. Can I get a different question? Please? Ok. Give me a minute . . . I’ll go with  my laugh. It’s loud and boisterous. I’m even known to sneak some sorts in every once and a while {er, often} and I’ve been told it brings joy to others.

Favorite Place? New York City

Hubby and I spent a week in NYC the first part of October. It was amazing. We took in a show on Broadway, listened to Joshua Bell play at Lincoln Center, stood at the top of the Empire State Building, took a stroll through Central Park, ate cupcakes from Magnolia Bakery, played in FAO Schwarz, and on and on and on.

Who is your hero? Two words: Jack. Bauer. Jack Bauer. Is anyone with me?

My Etsy shop gave me a place to combine two of my loves ~ photography and sewing. I opened my shop in April and have been absolutely blown away by the response from people. I feel so blessed to do what I do. I learn something new just about every day. I love that!

Note from Vanessa: I have to tell you guys how I found Ruthanne…I saw Shelley (who I featured two weeks ago) at an event and she was wearing this BEAUTIFUL out of this world camera strap.
