One Word that Describes You: Indecisive?  I can’t think of a word. That’s crazy.  How do people decide stuff like that?

Seeker.  How’s that.

What makes you smile? What doesn’t make me smile?  I smile too easily, probably.  I smile if someone looks at me or talks to me; I smile when I’m confused; I smile when I am feeling joy; I smile when my children are sweet; I smile when I hear my wind chimes, when the sun peeks out from behind the clouds, when there is good food to eat; I smile when I almost bowl people over when I’m running as fast as I can to get out of the store before everything falls apart, I smile when people stop me because they want to talk about twins for a minute and I smile when I check out.

What is one of your dreams you hope to accomplish soon? I hope to get back into regular creative time out in my studio.  I have so many ideas of things I want to create that they are leaking out of my ears.  It’s not good to loose ideas out your ears like that.  But I have to keep my expectations realistic or else I stop smiling.  When you have toddler twins who teach each other to be naughty, it’s hard to get it all in.

One of Your favorite motherhood moments? I love learning from them.  I feel so humbled by who they are as people and I hope that I can live up to my responsibility as their mother.  There are so many times when I am “disciplining” and as I’m teaching them a truth, I reflexively apply the lesson to myself and realize that I have so much need for improvement!  What an incredible opportunity we have as mothers to grow!  These children are sent to us wise.

And then there are the moments of affection between them.  Just tonight, my littlest darling who isn’t even two yet, put her arms around her sister who was hurt and gave her kisses and little coos of affection while patting her back.  It’s the sweetest thing.

What is your guilty pleasure? Chocolate.

What do you love most about you? I love that I can see the positive.  Even when things seem really bad, I can buck up pretty quickly and recover.  Faith comes naturally to me and I can see how God takes care of us.  There’s always a lesson in our struggles and I’m glad that I can usually find the positive in life.

Favorite Place? My dad took my sister and I (JUST us) to France and Italy this past spring.  He spoiled us rotten.  I am still fantasizing over the pastries, the shoes and the sheer beauty of it all.

Who is your hero? That’s like picking favorites.  I hate picking favorites.  There is so much good out there!  Here’s what I love:  I can meet just about anyone and they have something that inspires me or teaches me.  I love finding that, whether it is how I can improve my organizational skills (which definitely need improving), or really appreciating a quality that I am lacking, or watching someone mother skillfully.  I have met so many women who inspire me creatively or spiritually or physically.  I love having every day heroes, I find it very motivating.

With 5 Kiddos in completely different stage in their lives…Do you have any tips to help make family outings or times together work well for everyone?: Keep things pretty simple, have realistic expectations, and go prepared.  And timing is important—go when the kids are naturally happy.  Also, I usually try to keep protein in their little bodies so they don’t crash in the middle of it all.
