Monday’s Maven

Full Name: Cheryl

blog:
Tidy Mom

Location: near St.Louis, Missouri (born and raised)

kids: 2 beautiful daughters 22 and 14, they are my world!!

One Word that Describes You: Faithful (friend, family and lover)

What makes you smile? My furball, Cullen.  He’s a full size Yorkie (13 pounds) my husband and daughers gave him to me as a surprise Birthday gift a year and a half ago……he fills my heart with SMILES every day.

What is one of your dreams you hope to accomplish soon? Become a better photographer…..I’ve always had a deep passion for photography and in the last 2 years I’ve been working on learning everything I can about it.

One of Your favorite motherhood moments? That my girls, at 22 and 14 STILL want to be with me. lol  They enjoy spending time with mom, shopping, chatting, baking, and just sharing……I love the feeling that they WANT to be with me and value my opinion.  We laugh and cry together……and I LOVE being their mom.

What is your guilty pleasure? Reading vampire books and watch vampire movies and TV shows! lol…..Twilight, True Blood (Sookie Stackhouse Novels), Vampire Diaries…….it’s an obsession I share with my daughters.

What do you love most about you? That I try to see the best in most situations….I’m a “glass half full” kind of girl.

Favorite Hobby? photography and baking

Who is your hero? my parents and their love for each other – they taught me unconditional love ( my parents were married nearly 38 years when I lost my dad to lung cancer)- my husband and I have been married for 24 years and counting.

Your advice to other women who want to become more organized time wise and home wise and be a bit more “tidy”? Stay on top of the “little” chores so they don’t turn in to BIG chores.  Clean as you go. You’ll be amazed that many things only take a few minutes to do if you clean as you go, rather than hours of cleaning if you put it all off to do at once. If you stay on top of these things daily your house will look nice and you will be more organized and relaxed.

I was so glad Marie linked to Cheryl’s blog this week and that late at night I have been catching up. She has the best holiday ideas, yummiest looking recipes and fun ideas for projects. And her photography is BEAUTIFUL! Newest fan of her site!
