Monday’s Maven
Full Name: Sarah
blog:
Kids: Lou, 8 mo old, Does my Husband, AC, count?
Location: Provo, UT
One Word that Describes You:
What makes you smile? Being with my family; my baby’s laugh; my husband; a beautiful tasty dish
What is one of your dreams you hope to accomplish soon? I currently have my RN, but am working on getting an advanced degree – I can’t wait to be done next summer!
One of Your favorite motherhood moments?
What is your guilty pleasure?
What do you love most about you? I love that I can make people smile with food. I love that I have a good sense of ingredients that meld and that I am able to produce dishes that work (most of the time).
Favorite Place? My parents moved far away about 7 years ago – all the way across the ocean to Hawaii. We, of course, love to visit. It is so relaxing and so great to be with our family. It is the best when all my siblings, nieces, and nephews are there with us. Plus, it has great memories for AC and me – that is where he proposed.
Who is your hero? My Mom – she is the ultimate. She is an amazing cook, almost every thing I learned, I learned from watching her. She is an amazing mother – she has raised three independent, strong, kind people. She is strong in the gospel and has put in us a strong love for the spiritual. I think by looking at how her children grew up shows that she is an amazing woman. (Not bragging – she made three crazy kids into three great adults)
Your advice to other moms: Cherish every moment. Never think, “I can’t wait until she’s __” (insert age). Enjoy each moment, movement, even tantrum. I know, it’s hard.

I can’t wait to check out her blog! She seems wonderful; thanks for featuring her!
She is SO nice, I met her at an event during the summer, can’t wait to make her pumpkin bars!
I love that advice – I spent so much of my time with my first baby doing just that – wishing he were older, younger, etc. I mourned every little onesie he grew out of! Now I’m trying hard to live in the present a little more and just soak up who my children are at this very moment.
Thanks for the wise reminder, Sarah!
Emily – thanks for the compliment – let me know what you think of the blog
vanessa – they are delicious. Let me know what you think!
Thanks Lauren – it was a goal I set the first couple days after Lydia was born. I remember thinking, “I can’t wait until she smiles” Or whatever her next age or mile marker was. And then I thought, “I can’t wish away these moments, I just need to savor her just the way she is.”
I love Sarah. She is so sweet. And her website has some of the best and easy to follow recipes. I got a granola recipe from her and it was amazing.
Thanks steph! I am glad you liked it!
Sarah is the most amazing, sweet person ever. I am so glad to call her my sister. (And the best cook to boot. Truly!)
Hooray! Enjoying tantrums, THAT’S my style!
Gosh, I’m blushing, but thanks Sarah for giving me all the credit. Actually it was the luck of the draw when I ended up with my PPEW daughter and her amazing siblings.
She has such beautiful hair – and such a warm smile too! And she’s in great shape for just having a baby too…
