Full Name: Sarah

blog:

Kids: Lou, 8 mo old, Does my Husband, AC, count?

Location: Provo, UT

One Word that Describes You:

I couldn’t think of one so I called my family:
Husband- “Quaint”
Mom – Competent/“PPEW” (my silly nickname from her = Practically Perfect in Every Way)
Brother – Adventurous/Optimistic
Sister – Elegant
Me – Classic (?) I am having a hard time 🙂

What makes you smile? Being with my family; my baby’s laugh; my husband; a beautiful tasty dish

What is one of your dreams you hope to accomplish soon? I currently have my RN, but am working on getting an advanced degree – I can’t wait to be done next summer!

One of Your favorite motherhood moments?

Just one? Well, here are a few: Right after I delivered Lou, I saw her and thought, “She looks like me!” I knew she was mine.
I loved when she was so teeny tiny that she would curl up on my chest and just fall asleep. I love cuddle time with by baby.
My husband is the funny one, but I love that I can make Lou laugh harder than anyone. Her giggle is my favorite sound.

What is your guilty pleasure?

Constantly turning the heat up in the shower/tub and staying in until all the hot water is gone.
Eating sweets much too regularly

What do you love most about you? I love that I can make people smile with food. I love that I have a good sense of ingredients that meld and that I am able to produce dishes that work (most of the time).

Favorite Place? My parents moved far away about 7 years ago – all the way across the ocean to Hawaii. We, of course, love to visit. It is so relaxing and so great to be with our family. It is the best when all my siblings, nieces, and nephews are there with us. Plus, it has great memories for AC and me – that is where he proposed.

Who is your hero? My Mom – she is the ultimate. She is an amazing cook, almost every thing I learned, I learned from watching her. She is an amazing mother – she has raised three independent, strong, kind people. She is strong in the gospel and has put in us a strong love for the spiritual. I think by looking at how her children grew up shows that she is an amazing woman. (Not bragging – she made three crazy kids into three great adults)

Your advice to other moms: Cherish every moment. Never think, “I can’t wait until she’s __” (insert age). Enjoy each moment, movement, even tantrum. I know, it’s hard.
