Monday: Weekly Family Activity—I Love You

February 2nd, 2009 in Monday: Weekly Family Activity

This book is one of my daughter’s favorite books, we have read it so many times it is worn through.

I Love You Stinky Face by Lisa McCourt

In the book the son asks his mother if she would still love him even if he was an alien, a monster in a swamp, etc. The mother always replies with yes and how she would make it work and still help him feel special.

We have been playing a simple fun activity as a spin off from the book. We make up stories, color pictures, write a book or just talk about all the different possibilities we can come up with of crazy things that could happen to us and how we would still love each other.

“What if I were an alligator with big, sharp teeth that could bite your head off?”

“What if I were a super smelly skunk, and I smelled so bad that my name was Stinky Face?”

“What if I were a green alien from Mars, and I ate bugs instead of peanut butter?”

Looks like a funny book – with an endearing message! I bet my daughter would like it too.
