Liz Lemon Swindle
Liz Lemon Swindle is an artist I was able to meet. I got to tour her studio and watch her whole process last November with some other bloggers in Utah.
I already knew who she was because of these two beautiful photos that have been at the top of my MUST HAVE SOMEDAY list as soon as I first saw them.
Oh, but this one…this one titled “Worth of a Soul” was in my top three. My husband bought it for me for Christmas. I finally got it back from the framing store and it is hanging in our main room. I love to walk past and look at it every single day.
Why? Because it reminds me of my son and my brother who I will meet someday. I feel like this is the most important “family picture” that hangs in my home.
Back to meeting Liz Lemon Swindle. I didn’t realize her process of coming up with a new piece. We watched her begin her “session” with a prayer and reading of a scripture. Then they actually do a photography shoot of the painting she wants to do. This one was a modern day version of “The Good Samaritan” and it was very special to be a part of. Also, forgive the horrible, wind blown hair look in the picture below of Liz and me since we were outside for a while watching her.

I LOVE HER!!! The first one on the top has been a favorite of mine for a while
I have one particular picture of Christ that I love, lol, I can’t seem to find the artists name or what the painting is titled, fortunately I have one hanging in my house ;D I just wanted you to know that ;D
I adore her work. We have a few of her prints, in various sizes, around my home. Hers the favorite of my girls as well.
I love that picture of Mary holding the baby Jesus and I have loved the image of the Father walking with the little boy with a superman cape on since I was a teenager!
My other favorite image of Christ is from Simon Dewey. It is Mary teaching a young Jesus to pray.

What a special day that was! I still have to post my photos and recap. I absolutely LOVE her artwork, and the one Tyler bought you for Christmas is one of my faves too!
My favorite LDS artist is Walter Rane. His paintings speak to me and I have a couple and would love more.
Funny story. For quite sometime, LLS had a model that she patterned her Jesus related artwork after. I knew him. I couldn’t see past Chris to the Jesus…
Well, apparently I got over it because perhaps my favorite piece of art (in my home) is The Worth of a Soul painting – it reminds me of my time in Africa
It is always so fun to meet the artist that you enjoy. She didn’t look anything like I would have pictured her.??? I too love her work. I can’t wait to see your picture.
LOVE her work! My favorite picture of Jesus I have framed very large in my home is the Be Not Afraid by Greg Olsen. I looked and looked for one that I felt truly explained how I felt about my savior. I finally got it a couple years ago and when people ask I explain that it is me-stumbling through this treacherous life and He is there helping me do the part I can’t alone.
My favorite print of hers is the Worth of Souls painting. Not only because my brother served in Africa and sent many photos of these sweet little children, but I love the story behind the photo shoot she did in Africa with the “Jesus” and this little boy who run up and hugged the man really believing it was the Savior. Those emotions were real and she captured it so perfectly! Love, love LOVE LLS!
I love her art. So beautiful.
