If You Give a Mouse a Cookie Play in Utah

December 13th, 2010 in Love of Local in Utah, local

Ok, we LOVE the series of books by Laura Joffe Numeroff.  Just quiz my kids. Start off with the first part of any phrase from any of her books and they can finish any and every sentence. We have it on CD and play it in the car as well.

So when Salt Lake Acting Company emailed me asking if we wanted to attend THEIR version of “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie” I said, “YES, YES, YES!”

We actually went to this play down in Southern Utah for Abby’s birthday with a lot of her friends. It was good…oh, but I didn’t know that there was a much, much, much better rendition out there. And that the Salt Lake Acting Company is the one to check out.

You know kid things are good when parents are busting up laughing. You know kid things are good when there aren’t any kids screaming or getting restless. You know kid things are good when the time just FLIES BY.

You know the part when the mouse asks for Scotch Tape to hang his drawing up on the fridge? Hee hee, this scotch tape got a little bit out of the control during the play…my girls reenacted it after church yesterday in their play room…holy moly.

And my girls were CRACKING UP when the mouse broke out in dance moves to tons of different songs.

They stayed true to story and elaborated in parts that were perfect.

There is still time to go!! Check it out here: http://saltlakeactingcompany.org/this-season/mouse-cookie

Disclaimer: We got free tickets and LOVED IT.
