Raise an informed citizen -- teach kids about the presidential election

27 more days until the election!

Scholastic News Online has an amazing site put together to help teach your children learn about the electoral college, campaigning, the candidates and issues, political parties, how the government works and “tips fro the pros” through already put together lesson plans, audio and online games.

They have a from your kids can fill out to ask either of the candidates a question. My favorite was a quiz called, “Guess Where the Candidates Stand.” Also fun articles that are updated regularly about the candidates and different political parties.

Your kids can also pretend they are a candidate and put together a poster, talk to the press and make decisions.

Not sure how to talk to your kids about politics? They have a great parents guide to help you get started.

Check it out!
