Frozen Hot Chocolate

January 9th, 2010 in recipes

My sister came to visit from Logan so we had a GNO in with my Mom. For the life of me I can’t find a good babysitter so EVERYTHING has become a GNO IN. Of course, when having a GNO it needs to involve a girly chocolate sweet. Let me introduce you to….

Frozen Hot Chocolate

makes 8 goblets full

Ingredients:

10 oz of your favorite chocolate.  You can even do a variety

8 teaspoons of store bought hot chocolate mix

6 Tablespoons of sugar

5 cups of milk

7-10 cups of ice (depending on how icy you want it! I say lean on the less icy side)

Whipped Cream

Chocolate Shavings

Fancy Straws

Directions:

1. Chop 10 ounces of your favorite chocolate and slowly melt in the microwave.  Stir thoroughly.

2. Let cool a bit and then stir in the sugar and hot cocoa mix.

3. Mix in 1 1/2 cups of the milk.

4. In a blender, (unless you have a super duper huge blender, you are going to have to cut the mixture in half and do this twice) blend the mixture, remaining milk and ice.

5. Top with whipped cream and shaved/chopped chocolate.

6. Insert fancy straw.
