Friday’s Everyday Beauty
Yes, I know she is not even four yet. Let me clarify. She is no longer a baby or a toddler or even a preschooler. She is a GIRL who is growing into a woman.
She is so “mold-able” right now. She just soaks everything in. Let’s be honest here- it terrifies me.
The girl has already got me down to a T. She knows my weaknesses, when I call a bluff and how to word things just the right way.
I don’t want to say this for sure, but I am starting to think the girl ENJOYS living in clutter. Before bedtime, she piles everything she can into her bed. She falls asleep on top of these piles. I go in her room to check on her before I go to bed and cannot understand how she even fell asleep. Books, Leap Frog readers, seashells and her LAMP are poking out from under her.
Every Wednesday I would hurry and pick up her mess (obviously not from a 3 1/2 year old girl but from a TORNADO) in preparation for the house cleaners that come early Thursday morning.
But not anymore. She needs to clean it up herself. So she does as I sit there patiently helping her a bit.
We chat. We talk. I like watching her work. I love working together.

Maybe it’s ok that she is a cute little messy tornado.
What do you find beauty in on Fridays?

I can believe she enjoys living in clutter. I did it all growing up and it was perfect. I loved it.
it’s 845 and my infant is still sleeping. if I didn’t have a toddler as well, i would be too.
What’s a “messy tornado” to you is probably “art” to her. And she probably knows where everything is
But overall, I’m sure she appreciates the time you spend with her in there!
What comes around! I remember a girl named Vanessa that was a little messy!
My son slept on a huge pile of stuffed animals for the longest time. He absolutely loved it.
