Friday: Play!–Nature–Investigate!!
This is the most excited I have seen Abby in a long time (and she is a pretty easily excited gal), the thing I love is this took NO EFFORT on my part. No putting together supplies, no spending money to have fun and that (along with many other reasons) is why I love spending time in nature with my girls.

We woke up to a blanket of fresh snow and some “mysterious” animal tracks on our front footsteps…

The animal was small enough to go under both of our cars…

In one spot we could see that the animal had paws…

My guess, a cat. Abby’s guess, oh well there were lots: tiger, lion, Blue’s Clues but she decided on a small dog.
Next time you have a blanket of new snow, go outside and “investigate” what animals have been roaming near you!

We did the same thing a few weeks ago! My preschool-aged son LOVED trying to solve the mystery.
I appreciate the fun ideas you share – thanks!
So Cute! Toddlers love a good mystery – we will definitely do this on the next snow day. (Of course, I\’m secretly hoping there are NO MORE snow days!)
so Cute! I love how she thought it was a lion. Would you ever take your girls camping? or do you take them on hikes often? Well we will have to Lucas likes to look for fossils and the way you do it by breaking open rocks with his rock hammer. We will have to plan a fossil treasure hunt day!
