Fall, My Favorite

September 22nd, 2010 in Nature

The colors are changing!  Every year I plan trips up every single canyon around here so we catch the colors of fall.  And sometimes, if we wait TOO long the colors are gone. Last year I waited too long to go up American Fork Canyon and missed it. This year I really want to hit Logan at the right time.

Our first trip was the back way to Little Cottonwood Canyon and we saw gold, yellow, orange, red and FIRE red. The girls also said they saw purple everywhere…sure, why not.

When we got out of the car Abby was wearing one of her dress up outfits over her clothes and started directing me in a fashion shoot.  She told me which rock she was going to step up on and where to point the camera.

So I did it:

This little cutie too:

I don't know if our secret spot, Yellow Fork Canyon, is even...alive.
We will see in a couple of weeks.

We took the ride up the canyon and to our hiking spot in our Chevy Malibu.  Doesn’t it look pretty up in the mountains? It had just the right power to speed up and down the mountain.  We love how QUIET the car is.  There was no sound from things bumping around in the trunk.  And boy, opening up that sun roof and letting in the fresh fall air was so perfect.  Also, gotta love my husband’s weekly Sunday outfit. He keeps on his church socks and white button up shirt and pairs it with sandals and gym shorts.  What can I say?  It’s his only day off.  Let the man be.

Disclaimer: Chevy is letting me test drive the Chevy Malibu for a month!
