Easter

March 30th, 2010 in About Me

I had big plans for this week and last week in sharing with you tons of ideas on how to make Easter more of a special holiday. I wrote last week how Easter has been lacking meaning in our home and that this year I really wanted it to be about Christ. I loved all of your ideas, your emails, messages and my mother’s guest post.  Really truly.

However, my mind, my focus and my heart has not been into the work of typing up ideas, taking pictures of new ideas for activities, etc. Instead it has been focused on just naturally talking more about our earth, Jesus Christ, our wonderful blessings and how we should be treating people. We have been saying more family prayers, playing together more and going on more walks.  We have been chatting more throughout the day about what we love and what we are thankful for.

Which is what I wanted for this Easter season. Who knew it would be that simple?

I decided that in order to say ‘Happy Easter,’ I would share this with you:

“May we declare ourselves to be more fully disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, not in word only and not in the flush of comfortable times but in deed and in courage and in faith. May we stand by Jesus Christ at “all times and in all things and in all places” that we may be in, even until death, for surely that is how he stood by us when it was unto death and when he had to stand entirely and utterly alone.”

By Jeffery R Holland an apostle of The Lord Jesus Christ

I want you to know that our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ KNOW you. They love you. They know you by name and care about you. They are always there for you. This is the most important thing I have learned in my life.  This is the most important thing my children will ever learn.

Every time I say these words and share my testimony of this, the tears start coming!  I cry when I tell my kids or my little brother or the women I teach at church or the kids in Primary. If I am by myself or in front of a group of people, man I cry like a baby. This pure and wonderful message just means so much to me.

I would love to offer you an Easter present from my family to yours, a copy of The Book of Mormon.  You can learn about it hereand then email me at inevergrewup at gmail dot com for a copy from my family to you.

Now I’ll go back to enjoying my family.  I hope you do too.  I’ll see you after Easter.
