~Earth Week~Tuesday: Weekly Book Review—Save the Planet Children’s Books!

April 21st, 2009 in Tuesday: Weekly Book Review

Last week we took a tip to Barnes & Noble to check out if they had any books to help teach us how to take better care of our earth. We came home with three favorites and I highly recommend each one!

Help Your Parents Save the Planet
by Play Bac

“This is the first green guide for kindergartners and first-graders who are ready to get busy and make a difference. An uncomplicated guide for kids who know they ‘know better,’ How to Help Your Parents Save the Planet is filled with actions you can take immediately and implement easily. The style is light, informative, and—above all: kid-friendly.” -Amazon.com Review

S Is for Save the Planet
by Brad Herzog

“This book is thoughtfully written and beautifully illustrated. It is child-friendly, positive, and easy to understand, and the ‘ABC’ format of suggestions for saving our planet will truly motivate children … to make earth-friendly choices. [It] also goes one step further by including additional facts on the importance of each earth saving suggestion.” -Amazon.com Review

10 Things I Can Do to Help My World
by Melanie Walsh

“Do you remember to turn off the tap while you brush your teeth? How about using both sides of the paper when writing and drawing? Or planting seeds and nurturing the new plants as they grow? Bold, child-friendly illustrations and die-cut pages will draw even the youngest listeners to this gentle reminder of the easy, everyday ways we can be kinder to the earth.” -Amazon.com Review
