We are here! Costa Rica!

Monday, December 5th, 2011 in Nature, Our Travels Worldwide

We arrived, we survived and our kids are… quite grumpy! Ha, that is A-ok — they will adapt soon. Our first day was very low key and the kids are tucked safe in bed for a long night of sleep. Let me write down a few notes from our trip so far: In the stores

17 more days until I am sitting in the Albacore house — and then I can breathe.

Having Hubby Around 24/7 & GOING HOME!

Friday, August 27th, 2010 in About Me, Our Travels Worldwide

At first I was worried, really worried. I am used to a very, very busy husband who is rarely home. I like being in charge of everything and doing everything myself. I DO! I love that when my husband is around we just drop everything and have fun together. All of the sudden when I had him around,

Boquete, Panama

Thursday, August 26th, 2010 in About Me, Our Travels Worldwide

Boquete, Panama turned out to be *our* city and I can’t believe we almost didn’t go. It was an hour and a half away, famous for coffee (we aren’t coffee drinkers) and far from the beach.  So it wasn’t HIGH on our list, but on our last day I thought, “Let’s do it.”  I had been hearing

Ok! The Jungle Excursion…interesting story. We are looking to live out of the country, either for the full year or for just a couple of months per year. So I set up a tour to visit an island out there in Panama where they are building a whole community- a drop dead beautiful community! AND quite

$5 Lobster, Arturo & Ocean Fishing

Saturday, August 21st, 2010 in About Me, Our Travels Worldwide

I remember telling Tyler that we couldn’t do a 3 hour fishing trip with the girls in THAT boat in THAT sun. I thought I had told him to ask if we could just go out for 1 hour, then Arturo could take us back and Tyler could go out for the other 2 hours.  Somehow

Frogs, Monkeys and Butterflies… OH MY!

Friday, August 20th, 2010 in About Me, Our Travels Worldwide

Howler monkeys, butterflies, frogs, birds and bugs. Those were the animals making all those sounds we heard.  Who in the world knew that butterflies together could make THAT LOUD of a noise?! We caught glimpses of quite a few fireflies but I refused to go out and catch them in the pitch dark with huge frogs everywhere.

75 Cent Bathroom Break, Chimichurri & 2 Million Dollar Beach House

Wednesday, August 18th, 2010 in About Me, Our Travels Worldwide

Tyler kept on checking in with me by patting my back throughout the trip and asking, “Still doing ok?” Then he would tell me about HIS first time out of the country and how sometimes it would freak him out. “Pshaw,” would think and say.”Look at me. I am doing wonderfully.” But the last few hours

Embassy No No’s, Beauty and Trash

Tuesday, August 17th, 2010 in About Me, Our Travels Worldwide

12 miles from the airport to the Marriott.  It was a Saturday night around 8pm, so of course we knew it would be at the height of traffic but three other important things we didn’t know were: Maps are a joke in Panama.  They don’t believe in street signs and, even though the locals are
