Back to School Annual Dinner: Let Your Light So Shine

August 18th, 2013 in About Me, Parties

Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Lesson: Review scripture, shared experiences of when Tyler & I let our light shine in school, and gave examples the girls could understand of how to let your light shine.

Song: I Am Like a Star Shining Brightly and This Little Light of Mine

Goal: After school tell mom how you let your light shine at school, print above (found here) is now in a high traffic area of the home.

Decor: Gold star hanging over table, christmas lights hung up, fabric hanging above, and pine tree feel. I wanted the centerpiece to look a little bit like fireflies. So I coated the inside of the glasses with clear Elmer’s glue, rolled white glitter around in it, and then when dried lit a tea candle in it. I also used gold rope, blue ribbon, and lace to decorate. The girls wore that lace/gold rope/blue ribbon around their heads to fancy it up as well.

Food: The girls picked! Alfredo is their favorite so I did prosciutto alfredo. Abby chose brussel sprouts and Cameron chose apples with dip. I also picked up a cake from Whole Foods, they are baked by the local prison.
