Dollar Store Puzzles

One of my pet peeves, is for my kids to take care of the toys they have. Especially games, nothing is worse than going to play a game and half the pieces are ruined or missing. Puzzles are the hardest, unless they are wood, they get lost, bent, go through the wash… My dollar store has the best puzzles for a dollar—of course. Clifford, Strawberry Shortcake, Curious George, everything. If I get a good couple months out of the puzzle, I don’t feel bad if half the pieces are missing.

Another great dollar find I have found, is the Target dollar bins. It is a great place to keep an eye on to save things up for your child’s birthday. They have had Hello Kitty, Curious George, Sesame Street and many others.

They frequently have books for a dollar also, they are not books that are written the best, but they have familiary characters and are the perfect “car books”.

What hidden treasures have you found at your dollar store?

I love the dollar bins at Target… they always have great stuff. I especially love the small card sets. Michael’s has great dollar bins as well!

I totally can relate about kids taking care of their toys! They have learned that if they lose pieces then the game/toy isn’t fun anymore.

Most dollar stores scare me but I agree that there are some real finds in the Target $1 bins.

Found your site from dooce – just wanted to say hi!

I love using these dollar finds for incentive bags for my children. When they display a great behavior that we have been working on, they can reach into a bag and grab a toy. Harmon’s also has great dollar toys!
