Appetizer Ideas

August 18th, 2011 in recipes

Have any summer family get togethers left? Or geez, before we know it, it’ll be Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s get together time. Oh YES IT WILL. You know it will all of the sudden be that time.

Anyway, my point is we can all use new appetizer ideas so these are my newest favorites:

Caprese Bites-Cherry or Grape Tomato, Leaf of Fresh Basil and Good Quality Mozzarella Balls all on a toothpick. Right before serving, drizzle with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

Barefoot Contessa’s Tea Sandwiches-A raisin nut bread slathered with a cream cheese mixture (cream cheese, fresh basil and green onions all pureed) and a layer of thin deli turkey meat.

Salami Spinach Wraps-Whitney on Facebook gave me this great idea for a wrap. Make a cream cheese mixture from cream cheese, sun dried tomatoes and fresh basil. Slather onto a flavored wrap, then layer spinach and salami. I would suggest having the deli cut the salami a little thicker than I have in the picture below.

Fruit Bruschetta with Honey Orange Cream- This recipe got so many “yums” and “can I have the recipes?”. It’s not my recipe. You can find the recipe here on Our Best Bites.
