American Girl

Very important question for you, WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE AMERICAN GIRL?
Now I am only putting the American Girl’s in the poll that were back in my day.
I am only 25 so I don’t know if I can really say “back in my day” yet but I just did.
Need a refresher? Check out the American Girl Slideshow with their names.
My oldest is starting to get into the American Girls and I am thrilled.

Wait! Aren’t there more than just these four? I thought there was an American girl for each generation…
They have added more but these are the ones my sister and I remember!
Molly was mine because she was the only one with glasses. Sharing this with P has been a highlight for me, the store makes me feel like a kid again.
See…I’m 27, and Addy is a bit too New Fangled for me. When I was reading the books, Felicity was the New Girl…and I lost track after that. Oh, how I LOVED my AG books! I used to sit up at night, with the boxed set of all 6 Kirsten books. It took me 30 minutes per book…and I’d finish the entire series before I finally fell asleep after 10. It was my one guilty pleasure as a child.
That, and sticking my finger in the butter dish.
Okay, I’m feeling a little old here….I barely remember Felicity even. She came just as I was getting out of that phase. But I LOVED my Kirsten series. Oh and Samantha. And molly. Hmmm…do I have to choose one?! Someday I will have a girl to share these with and then I’ll have an excuse to read all of the ones I haven’t!
The newest American Girl is named Gwen and she is homeless. It was funny because at the very moment I opened this from my RSS feeds, I was listening to people on the radio debating if American Girl should sell Gwen without giving any procedes to homeless people. It made me chuckle to see this at that very moment.
I had Kaya and Kit as a little girl. When I got older and wanted a laptop I sold Kit on ebay to make some money to buy my computer. I remember wrapping her up to send to the highest bidder and my mom was having a very sentimental, emotional moment from me getting rid of my favorite doll and I felt bad that she was crying.
But yeah, there are a lot of dolls now. I have lost count because I am old now. :/
I stopped by your blog to verify that you were still hosting all of your “theme day(’s)”.
In case you aren’t sure why I would do that, please first go here: http://thehousethatlovebuilt.xanga.com/712911712/today–/
and then read this one:

From what I could see, you are no longer hosting all of yours. Are my findings correct? Either way, PLEASE let me know via: pink bunnies (at) sbc global (dot) net
THANKS!!!

for what it’s worth - I know very little about The American Girls (I have four sons ;-p) B-U-T, I imagined that Samanatha would be what my daughter would have looked like ;-p
Molly was my favorite, because she looked a lot like me when I was growing up!
Molly was my favorite. I can’t remember why but I got her when I was about 7ish so eh, 20 years ago. My mom wanted me to pull her out to give to my 6 year old but I’m too nervous with my 3 year old girl and 2 year old boy they’d destroy her too quickly. I’m hoping next year for her birthday, when we can find a safe place to keep her. I have some fun clothes even like her raincoat and boots, and a nightgown. Fun stuff.
