A New Take on Jack-o-Lanterns
October 8th, 2010 in Crafts
This was a fun new way to do some of the pumpkins this year. They look cute stacked inside but the felt and paper probably wouldn’t do well outside. The girls thought it was hilarious that they were painting the pumpkins bright colors and it was super easy to do too!
Supplies:
Pumpkins
Bright Colored Craft Paint
Foam Paint Brush
Felt
Scrapbook Paper
Glue
Directions:
1. Paint your pumpkin (just FYI: yellow doesn’t end up looking too good)
2. Let dry and get to work on cutting out the felt and scrapbook paper to make your face.
3. Glue on the face and let dry!

Very cute! Another craft I might actually attempt–if you provide the supplies.
Oh, my goodness! So cute! What a great idea
I think we may have to try some of these at the Fleck household.
Best Wishes!
We will be doing this next week. So cute! Have you tried red or green?
What a cute idea. So much easier for little ones than carving.
My boys have been dying to carve pumpkins. I don’t like to do them this early because they rot and get gross so fast. I told Bear, “Why don’t we paint them?”
He told me, “How bout we do both, paint them and carve them!”
Lol!
I love the blue pumpkin.
Oh! I like those zany pumpkins so much better than the spooky sort!
[...] I Never Grew Up has a really pretty idea involving craft paint, felt and scrap-booking paper. [...]
Can you share with us the exact paint you used because the craft paint I am using is cracking apart as it dries on the pumpkin. Thanks so much!
