A Mini Pie Party

March 23rd, 2013 in Parties

Abby wanted her birthday party to be BAKING! Of course I said yes to that. A few months earlier I had watched this food show on food trucks. They featured this delicious looking mini pie company. Mini Pies have been “in” for a couple of years now and I guess are a little over-done. But listen schmisten, who cares. We had such a fun time planning this party. Boy oh boy was it fun. We invited 10 sweet girls in the area, and almost all of them were able to attend. Abby needed this.

A Mini Pie Party

Decor: Homemade birthday banner and fabric for the table was really about it!

Food: Mini lemon pies & mini PB & chocolate pies (made ahead of time). Main pie for the “birthday cake” was an apple pie we bought at the feria. Raspberry lemonade was requested but all I could find was blackberries.

Activities & Games: “Don’t Eat the Pie!” (based off Don’t Eat Pete), personalizing paper chef hats and pie boxes, playing around with the photo booth and Polaroid camera.

Baking: Taught them how to make dough, then we made mini apple pies out of it. I had the apple mixture pre cut and seasoned. I also was going to have them make mini heart pies with chocolate and marshmallow in them. But the party should have been 30 minutes longer to fit that in. We didn’t get to making the second pies. Which was ok because I didn’t tell anyone about it before hand, they didn’t know they were missing anything!

Party Favors: Pie aprons & their pie boxes with a freshly baked apple pie in it.

I am having a little bit of fun exploring the free templates with iMovie, Abby and I put together this fun little video with clips from her birthday party:
